Diaghilev P.S. Festival will open its XIV season on the stage of the State Academic Capella of St. Petersburg with an exquisite musical program “Poet’s Love” thematically composed and prepared for “The Judgment of Paris. Birth of a Goddess” exhibition.  The heroines who inspired music director Alexei Goribol to create the program include Clara Schumann, Marlene Dietrich and Lyubov Orlova. 

The soloist of the concert will be soprano Nadezhda Pavlova, Honored Artist of the RF.

Alexei Goribol, an author, performer and musical director of the program, famous pianist and producer, has already become a participant of the programs of Diaghilev. P.S. Festival. In 2022, the Masquerade Ball theatricalized concert had a great success on the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre. 

The mesmerizing “The Afternoon of a Faun” slowly, note by note, plunges into a magical half-sleep…This is the overture of the theatrical action called “The Masquerade Ball”. With Debussy’s music, its author Alexei Goribol and pianist Pavel Konovalov seem to raise the curtain, “extinguish” the general light, illuminating the space of the stage with spotlights, “blocking” the memories of reality that exists outside the hall in everybody coming…. The incredible luxury of colorful harmonies, bizarre rhythms, sometimes capriciously broken, sometimes boldly theatrical – all this splashed, intertwined, flashed, stopped and exploded again with fireworks… The perfectionism of the sound, style, form, and ensemble becomes a miracle when it is spiritualized by the musicians’ love for every second of playing.
