Presentation of “Donna Tanya” Documentary

The frames of the Festival will include the premiere of the “Donna Tanya” documentary. This is an exceptionally interesting project for the 100th anniversary of ballerina Tatiana Leskova. Tatiana Leskova is a ballerina, choreographer and professional teacher. Her father was Yuri Leskov, a Russian diplomat and translator, her great-grandfather – famous writer Nikolai Leskov, the author of “The Left-Hander” and “The Enchanted Wanderer”. Tatiana Leskova toured for 17 years with the Original Russian Ballet company and in 1945 settled in Rio de Janeiro, where she founded a ballet school in the Russian classical tradition. The heroine of the new documentary project is the last of the direct descendants of writer Leskov, the last of the dancers of the Russian Ballets who knew Sergei Lifar and the heirs of Sergei Diaghilev, the last representative of the Russian artistic emigration in South America.

In honor of the 100th anniversary of this legendary woman, a team of Moscow documentary filmmakers is preparing a film based on a script by Maya Kucherskaya, a writer, literary scholar, winner of the Big Book Award. The director of the movie is Tatiana Sorokina, the cameraman is Julia Galochkina.

The film presentation, screening and meeting with the creators will be held at the Angleterre  Cinema & Theater.
