Photo exhibition “Never Fading Stars of the Original Russian Ballet of Col. W. de Basil”

A photo exhibition “Never Fading Stars of the Original Russian Ballet of Col. W. de Basil” was opened in honour of the book’s launch “The Original Russian Ballet, 1932-1952 by Sergei Grigoriev. The book’s main focus is Vasiliy Voskresensky (perhaps better known as Colonel W. de Basil) who continued the traditions of the Ballets Russes after death of its founder Sergei Diaghilev. The book explains how de Basil (Voskresensky) went on to develop the company and create new productions with outstanding guest choreographers, dancers, composers and visual artists. Another Vasiliy Voskresensky from a subsequent generation – the grandson of Colonel W. de Basil and a participant in the conference – will present the book.
