On the 19th of November the Festival opened a major exhibition “Silver and Gold of the Queen of Spades” with the cooperation of the State Hermitage Museum and the long-standing partner of the Festival – the Museum of Theater and Music. The exhibition brought to light the captivating life history of the Princess Natalia Petrovna Galitzine (1744-1837) – the prototype of the fateful Countess of Alexander Pushkin’s “The Queen of Spades”, and showed the opera and ballet treatment of this masterpiece.
The Festival dedicated the exhibition to the memory of Pyotr Tchaikovsky to celebrate the 175th anniversary of his birth.
